Porcelain Drop Earrings - Clare Butler Ceramics

These porcelain earrings are lovingly handmade with care by Limerick based ceramicist Clare Butler. Perfect to add a pop of colour to your outfit.

Each piece is hand cut from slabs of porcelain, painted with underglaze, decorated with a sgraffito technique and rubbed down, before bisque firing to 1060 degrees. Then it is painted with a second underglaze and a final layer of transparent glaze is applied to the surface, and fired again; this time to 1280 degrees. When the work emerges from the glaze kiln it is ready to be fitted with its sterling silver findings.
