This book celebrating opera through the ages in Limerick was commissioned by Limerick Opera Festival. This book encompasses past & present operatic performers  from the city and county while also celebrating past & present iconic venues. Limerick Opera Festival immediate aim is to bring opera to all. We wish to bring operatic performance, recitals and workshops to a new and existing audience across the city & county & from afar!

Community involvement is a key component to the success of our festival. We are endeavouring to enhance the great operatic tradition which previously had a prominent role in the entertainment sector locally. The Festival will allow young local vocal talent the opportunity to showcase their undoubted talents to a local and national audience.

Our City is divided by the River Shannon, but joined by the three bridges, and is an area of outstanding natural beauty. We plan a programme that encourages our visitors to explore and enjoy the area as well as our opera events and workshops. This book celebrates Limerick's glorious operatic past and extols the wonderful talent we have in our beautiful historic city and county.
